Divorce records are court records in Caldwell County. Dissolution cases should be searched through Case.net for public docket information and requested through the Caldwell County Circuit Clerk for certified court documents, older files, or records that are not fully available online. The Recorder of Deeds does not issue divorce decrees. The Recorder handles marriage licenses and recorded documents, while the Circuit Clerk handles court filings and court case records.
RSMo 452.305 supports the Missouri divorce framework: a court may enter a dissolution judgment when the residency and timing requirements are met and the marriage is found irretrievably broken while the court addresses child custody, support, maintenance, and property issues where it has jurisdiction. Public divorce case records may still redact or restrict minor, Social Security, custody, and sensitive domestic details.

Certified divorce decrees and certified court documents come from the court file through the Circuit Clerk, not the Recorder. When a certified copy is needed for a name change, benefit, passport, or legal filing, ask the issuing office for its current copy process before relying on an online image or docket entry.
